My billfold says go with the P95 and it appeared "tougher" than the SR.
I own two of them, both KP95DC's, and in my opinion they are one of the finest 9mm pistols available at any price.

the houge slip-on grips are pretty good but when my hands get sweaty they still get slick. I also noticed the bit of extra girth that the houge adds and we all know the ruger doesn't need any more of that. I went to the paint section of my hardware store and got a 6 inch wide piece of non-skid tape (think grip tape on the deck of a skateboard) and it actually works very very well and I really like it.

What is a Hogue grip and where are they available? I just purchased a new P95 today. Haven't fired it yet (will this weekend at the shooting range); however, I've read about the Hogue grip recently. What are it's advantages over the stock grip?

Got one on my p95 and works well. Make the grip a little thicker but give allot better grip.

Never wanted a P95 but after reading all the glowing reports and looking at the price $300.00 and change how can a person not buy one if only to have. not sure about the decocker model never had a pistol with a decocker before, can someone give me the + and - on it. My other chose would be the manual saftey model ??

Thanks

A few tips I found

A lighter hammer spring does help a bit in terms of double action pull.

A dremel with just the cloth buffing pad and a TINY bit of turtlewax will clean up the ramp on the barrel.

A fine honing stone can be used to break up the sharp edges on the locking teeth so that the firing action and lock up is smoother. This can also happen over time with 500+ rounds.

Don't be affraid to clean out the slide by soaking it in a cleaning solution. ("Ed's Red" is what I use)

I "lube" the rail with a tiny bit of either mobil-1 synthetic or CLP.

Keep your mags clean and do NOT oil them. Hoppe's makes a dry lube that can be put into the mags to help. But, I have not seen the need on factory ruger mags.
