LC9S Takedown issue. I don't know exactly what was meant but as a "problem" I might guess the non-captive takedown pin might be the issue. The push down latch to free the pin is not difficult but can be tedious until you get used to it. Then as shown in many takedown videos, nudging the slide back a little into position to "push" out the pin with something from the other side while holding position with tension, well, tedious also. I tried it a few times to get used to it. No problem. But the next try while inadvertently "riding" the slide into position, the pin free fell out without a push! After 10 minutes of scouring the floor(!), no problem putting it back in. Is it a deal breaker? Nah. But the old "L" type pins on other guns don't roll as much! Moral: Don't do a field strip in grass or the like without a magnet handy or a couple of extra pins in your range bag. Just be aware that it is possible to free fall if you have the slide just right!

lc9s guide rod issue

I'm new to the forum, and the lc9s is my first pistol. I was wondering how to center the guide rod. I cleaned my pistol last night, and was trying to reassemble, evidently I did not have the guide rod centered correctly, it snapped back on me, and i got my finger pinched by the spring so badly i had to have someone else pull it off my finger. i have a nice ouch on my finger. I'm sorry, but this should not be so difficult. Suggestions?

Very angry

I have a 2015 manufactured ruger lc9s that has 300 rounds threw it and I have the conical guide rod...it blew apart using your standard 9mm 115 grn....what a piece o junk.....the end thin end cap just blew past the rod ...

Getting a replacement rod guide...but hold on about great customer service....shouldn't a product last more than a few times out....crappy gun...getting a kahr or sw

SR22PSHOOTER will become famous soon enough
Just picked up a LC9s Pro this evening and it had the cone shaped guide rod on it. I thought that it looked funny, but I guess it needed it!

Don't bank on it. Mine had that guide and the other end is what pushed through ...should be one solid rod and not those silly end caps banged on.

Hope you get more than 300 rounds out of it....does Ruger know they are not building toothbrushes...these are weapons!

My LC9s was built in early 2015 and I just surpassed 1800 rounds thru it without issues.

LC9s Can you only chage rod and recoil spring and not striker spring

With my PM9 I changed to wolf recoil spring - nothing else. If I get the SS rod with the captured recoil spring can I just change that and leave the very small striker spring alone in my new LC9s?
