shot my sr1911 yesterday

Wow! I really like this thing. It shot very well. I only had one jam during the first mag that I ran through it. After that it ran flawlessly. This is my 3rd Ruger and they have made their place in my heart.

Which mag did you have the jam in the 7 or 8 rounder

Yeah it is a great gun and spoils you when you also have DA revolvers

Ruger did a great job on these SR1911's. They made allot of happy people with them.

I wouldn't be to alarmed with the one jam. Shoot it more and see if it happens again. If you were shooting reloads maybe something wasn't right with it. It's brand new and might need a little wearing in.

Be careful that's how the Ruger addiction all starts buy one, then the second .Before you realize it you're addicted. I know I've been there and done that.

I have the SR1911 cmd. One of the most accurate guns I have other than my Kimber with a crimson trace.

I have both the full sized and the CMD, and they are sweet shooters.

Yes the 3-dot sights are great aren't they? My SR1911 was so tight it hiccuped on the first magazine. I was so excited at its first trip to the range I didn't clean it. In the two years since then the action has smoothed and there have been no malfunctions with factory ammo since.

It's a great pistol. Enjoy!

One of my magazines had a bur on the side of the follower that was causing it to bind so I filed it down so the profile was the same as the other and have not had any issues with it. I don't recall having a single misdeed or jam or even failure to extract or eject with a variety of ammo.

I always recommend the SR 1911's or CMD's as the best bang for your buck in an American made 1911. Well put together and no modifications or upgrades necessary. Good right out of the box.
I never had a hiccup with my commander, unless you count dented empties, but admit I haven't shot my full size

It came with 2 7rnd mags. I'm not worried about it. It only did it once and being new it's really tight.

Mine sure doesn't disappoint either.
But then, neither have any of my Rugers.

Wish Ruger would come out with a 3" version. I would be all over that one!

I seem to recall the rumor mill saying that Ruger was working on a CCO, so it would stand to reason that since they have the frame they will make a 3" slide and barrel for it.
