A local estate sale/auction in TN included a very nice Model 96 in .22 Mag this past weekend. I hope hoped to pick it up for $400-$450 but did not as I dropped put of the bidding at $475.
$575 was the winning bid.

That price doesn't really surprise me for the winning bid. I like this model I only wished I could say I have one for my Ruger collection. :(

Me, I would have kept bidding on that one.

Bought one new in the box 2 years ago off Gun Broker for $500.00. Not sure that $575 wouldn't have been a fair price. Had one in 17HMR with a Redfield 2x7 wide view and four boxes of ammo that a neighbor offered me $750 for the whole works last year. He still talks to me so guess he's happy with the deal.

Bought a 96 in 17HMR with a 3-9 Tasco on it for $400 last summer. I thought it was plenty to pay at that time, but maybe I got a deal after all.

The 22mag rotory magazines were a issue with the 10/22mag hope its not the same with the m96.

i ruined one of my 96m model wmr magazines by trying to put ten rounds in when it only takes 9, it harmed the inner spring so that it would not feed the last 3 or 4 rounds.. I have not had myself any issues with 10/22lr or 77/22lr or 96/22lr 10 round mags ever over 30 years of shooting with them.

scored a 96/22

I guess I did pretty good this weekend at the Saratoga Gun show were I picked-up a 96/22 that I believe has never been fired! Saw it on a table and thought really nice 10/22 but the price was crazy but something didn't seem right the price tag was laying on the trigger guard and said 10/22lr, then I saw 96 leaver on the top of the tag ( I've never even seen one of these before) $389.00 +tax I had to have it even if I gave a little to much for it! then I've been online checking them out, guess I did pretty good!! Heading to the Range this morning after I clean and lube it some
