Tater and Zealot.

Here is the dilemma. I own Ruger Blackhawk (.45 Colt 4 1/2 inch barrel), Ruger GP100 (.357 magnum 6 inch barrel) and Ruger Super Redhawk (.44 magnum 7 1/2 inch barrel).
As of today, I am leaning toward a Marlin .44 magnum in 16 inch barrel if I can find it.

Just waiting on Dies and a mould to fire her up. Very handy rifle but I hear the .44mag lets you know when you pull the trigger. We shall see.

I have had Marlins in 357 and 44 mag... the 357 was more accurate.
I currently have a Marlin in 41 mag and several Browning BLR's as well as a B92 in 44 mag...
Of your choices I would go with the 357 mag

Really ?
At what range and what grouping did you get ?
I am open to information.
Unfortunately, I am beginning to feel that I should get one of each |

I have a Winchester trapper 44 mag.,a Rossi in both 357 and 45 Colt. The 45 Colt drops off way more at a distance than either of the others. The 44 Trapper has a surprising kick with hotter loads.I love them all three. They are all very accurate. Now you guys got me thinking about a 454 Rossi.Always just one more.... Be safe.

There's been something of a rush to get the last of the Marlins marked "Made in New Haven, CT" as Remington is either likely to move the factory or has already announced plans to do so (I don't remember which).

I have a Winchester .22 lever rifle and a Marlin GBL in .45-70 that I have added the sights and picatinny rail to to turn it into an SBL, essentially. Shoots pretty nicely.

To go with my SP-101 in .357 I have a Marlin 1894 Cowboy in (what else?) .357. If i have to give up all my other firearms, these are the two that will stay with me. I don't really hunt with it, although I could, but I think it's the perfect ranch rifle.

Bob | Let me know how it works out. It looks like a Marlin in pistol round is more expensive than a 30 30 ??
Of course the Marlin I wanted (SBL model) is $900

What kind of accuracy are you getting at what distance?
I know it is not a sniper rifle, but my 30 30 is very accurate at 100 yards.
