My Uberti 1873

Hi guys recently I was able to acquire a very nice Uberti 1873 Winchester Short Rifle in .357 Magnum. I do have to say that these rifles are very beautiful and have a very smooth action. I was able to go out and shoot a few rounds through my rifle. I can say these are nice rifles to have, I since these pictures have added a leather rifle butt gun stock cover that I made my self.

That is a real beauty, gqucool! I like the case hardening. And those stocks! Really nice!

I had a 45 colt 1873 from Uberti with a 30 inch barrel it was the most accurate rifle I have ever shot in a non scoped version.I could do 3 inches at 100 yards off hand.

Beautiful rifle. I have the pistol grip version with checkered wood. I actually prefer yours with the straight stock.
You will really love the rifle more and more. Something about a lever action thats makes me smile.

My only problem right now are my older eyes & the front sight blade. Mine is just a plain blued steel front sight blade. I did a search, I found a nice competition front sight thru Cimarron for a Uberti 1873 Winchester. I called Cimarron & ordered one with a larger brass bead in .357 caliber for my rifle. Not too expensive it's on the way. I have found with some of my rifles that to avoid the gun stock dings etc a gun sock works wonders. Now I guess some of the fun is going to be working out some reloads for this rifle. I really like all of the configurations that Uberti makes in their 1873 Winchester's they all have a special touch to them. But these rifles are so nice I feel lucky to have my Ruger Vaquero Bisley to go with it!!!

Well my front sight came in from Cimarron Arms I was surprised quite the turn around. Got my Black & Decker work mate out it has a long wooden type of vise. I put a long towel into the groove of the vise channel & put my rifle into it and snugged it up. I backed off the set screw on the front sight it slid out with just finger pressure. Well not the new front sight blade, I got it started with finger pressure. I got my small punch and covered the front of the punch with a towel & hit the punch and the sight started to move over. Well its centered so off tomorrow to see how close it is to POA/POI say 15-25 yds. BTW bwinters that is quite the off hand shooting a 3 inch group at 100 yards!!! Very good grouping years ago I might have been able to come close, but now I would have to use shooting sticks etc just to hit the target!!! The more I fiddle around with this rifle the more I like it, these 1873 Replica Rifles are quite the design!!!
