The gun is beautiful, but I think I am going to see if I can sell or trade for the semi auto rifle. I'm just not the lever fan. | It'll be gone before the ink dries on the add.

Down here they dont last long, any good used 96 model 22lr 22m or 44 the buyers want them so the market price is climbing. I seen it go from $6-700 to $12-1500 in last 3-4 years.

| Ruger Lever Guns
I own a 96/44 and a 96/22M. I love them both and would not part with either.

To me the 96 44 always seemed like the recoil was more than a comparable marlin so I sold mine to a friend who wanted one. Also ruger box mag will not handle as long a round as marlin so I cannot use some of my favorite 300 grain 44 mag handloads in it.

I bought a 96/22 about 4 years ago. It had a terrible trigger. Sent it to TT Shooter and now it's a lot better. Good little plinking gun. Don't like the way the lever has to be part way down to get the magazine out. Like the 39's better.

Good job gettin that trigger fixed and yeah why does that lever need to be down a fraction to reload its is annoying.

I am sure hoping that Ruger will start producing lever action guns again especially for cowboy action shooting. Would really enjoy having one in 38 Special / 357 Magnum or 44 Special / 44 Magnum or in 45 LC. Is there anyone else here that is involved with Single Action Shooting Society that feels the same?
I will be keeping my eye out. I did answer the Ruger survey here recently and mentioned just this fact about reintroducing the Lever Action Rifles.

They dominate the single action market, you think they would like to expand that catagory. And, throw in a pump action cowboy model shotgun as well...
