New 96/22M

I just got my 96 set up and shot it. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I had the Bushnell 4-12 scope laying around already so I used it, even though it may look a little large on the 22 mag.

I have got it roughly sighted in at 50 yards. The trigger is pretty tough to get used to though. I think I am going to get it fixed up before I shoot too much more. However, the rifle does show that it can shoot pretty good at 50 yards. Here is a 4 round group. You can see what I mean about needing to fine tune the zero.

Beautiful gun. I wish I would have grabbed one when they were plentiful.

The woodgrain looks great, and in my opinion the scope looks well-balanced on the gun.

I just got back from shooting it out to 100 yards. I got one group that was under and inch for three rounds. Average group size was 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" for three shots. I figure thats pretty darn good for that little lever gun.

This guy does excellent trigger work and takes all slop out of lever, and you will be amazed at how much better your groups will be with no creep and very little over travel with a smooth slick lever. Nothing like a 3# trigger on your hunting gun.

I have been shooting this gun quite a bit lately. I am doing work for a lady that has alot of landscaping and she lives in the country. Chip munks and squirrels are tearing everything up. So, I brought my 870 410 and my little levergun out there. She encourages us to shoot em.

We have really gotten alot of the little varmints so far. I have yet to miss with the 96. I am using CCI Maxi Mag TNT hollowpoints. These things are freaking unreal when they hit! I have some pics of the chipmunks but I hesitate to post any cause they are gruesome. It has literally almost blown them in two! They don't have any idea what has hit them.

The gun has performed flawlessly and is a joy to hunt and stalk with. The scope has been great too. It has an adjustable objective and I have gotten pretty good at tuning it in on the fly. It provides my with a great, crisp picture.

All in all, the gun, ammo and scope combo have made me very happy. Its all I wanted and expected it would be!

Nice rifle I,m obviously a fan. I got one and a 96Lr Ruger levers are great fun safe fast. They really suits my odd ball left eyed left hand trigger style. Yup I,m all crossed up but it works, kinda has too as the right eyes NQR out off order.
Good for teachin the billy lids firearm handling as safe action one shot then action to reload and no tube mag hidein a round.

Just picked up a NIB 96/22M and am awaiting delivery. I am a huge fan of the 22WMR round and figured I ought to grab it while I can still get it. Hoping I am as happy with mine as you are

I think you will like it. I have settled on CCI TNT rounds. They shoot great and really do a number on varmints.
