I have one, and can say the trigger had a harder pull than some of my guns, but was quite usable. Last year, I took it down to clean it and decided to try a trick I'd read in a forum. I put some heavy grease (Penn Muscle Grease) on the seer. Back to the range, and the trigger was 1,000,000% smoother and lighter. Quite amazing.
The more you shoot it, the better the trigger gets.

lol, just realized this was thread necromancy . | What's worse is a comment like this about a person you will never meet, and have no knowledge of, or understand why my father taught me not to waste ammo. We were poor and bought ammo by the box and not the brick and also taught often these animals suffered when it was not necessary because of poor shot placement. Saw many people over the years empty guns at game because they took shoots that they should passed on with a bolt action or single shot, but figured their auto-loading gun could make up for poor marksmanship, or that 3 to 10 shots would make up for poor timing or poor shooting. Seen it from almost every individual I hunted with that carried an auto-loading gun. I do not consider a lever gun and different then a bolt action with a magazine or tube. I should have said I don't own a auto-loading rifle I hunt with.
By the way I do have pump shotguns and two auto rifle's, the Browning 22 auto take down is a plinking rifle that's never been hunting and a Mini 14 that is not for hunting but SD of the home with several 30 round magazines loaded and ready. So go stuff your condescending comments where the sun doesn't shine.

Really a fun gun to shoot.
I still regret selling my Marlin 336 in 30-30 years ago.

I have a Henry H001 22LR with a Skinner peep sight and can shoot 1" 25yd 10 shot groups off hand. I love it!! It shoot EVERYTHING I feed it. It isn't fussy on ammo like most 22's are. I feed it everything from 22 Z-Longs to CCI Velocitors and it keeps on shooting straight.

My first deer rifle was an almost new pre-64 Winchester 30-30 that my dad bought me when I was 12. I still own it, and because he was strict on taking care of guns, it's almost as almost new as it was the day I got it. I'll never part with it until I leave it to one of my boys.
My long time deer rifle is a Browning BLR in 308 Win. with a wide angle 6X Simmons scope- lightweight and accurate out to any range I would ever encounter in PA, I love that gun.
I like lever guns.

So go stuff your condescending comments where the sun doesn't shine. | I fully understand your position bud, the general consensus amongst hunters around here is not any different than the way you were taught growing up. Semi-auto is restricted here in PA, no hunting. Traditionally, there is an attitude that hunters with SA's can't hit the broad side of a barn and they aren't ethical, so on and so forth. I had to move to Maryland to break out of that attitude myself. The first couple times I saw people dragging deer out of the woods with an AR slung over their back I was completely mortified but I got set straight through various conversations. I was questioned more about my .270 wsm more than I ever questioned someone about their AR, most guys were terrified of my gun because it's a "magnum". Once I moved back to PA the whole anti-SA rifle thing became a hot button issue for me, it's Nanny Stateism at it's best and there is no real reason for it. My prior post was never meant to be condescending.
To be on topic, lever actions are the coolest.
