Ruger 96-44 (?) cartridge OAL

I have not had the opportunity to handle any of the Ruger .44 mag lever guns, and I was wondering just how critical they are on COAL. Considering the rotary magazine limitations they probably are, but I thought I'd ask.

Personally I would keep the OAL the same as factory .240-gr JSP/FMJ ammo. I don't think you will go wrong with your loadings if you do. I am thinking of getting the 96/44 just because I carry a 2" .44 MAG when in the woods anyways.
