That's a very good price in our area for any 39 in such good condition, not to mention a Century. You did very, well. Take it from someone who has and shoots five Marlin 39s.

I have a Henry H001 round barrel also. Can't say any thing bad about them.

Thanks they usually go to for $700-750 here, that's why I couldn't pass up the deal.

My problem I am on a limited income, my gun safe is getting full already from my afliction of levergun itus! Because of my latest purchase the little Rossi Model 92 in my avatar picture. Henry makes a neat lever with the Hex barrel thats nice I would either like to find one of those or a Marlin M 39 like Imn found. I think you got a steal of a deal on that rifle especially because it looks very nice and has been taken care of. I have seen the Henry Golden Boys for $375-$400 used but they are almost to pretty to shoot! I wish that Henry would make a steel receiver lever action 22 that would sell like hot cakes!! Who knows Rossi seems to come out with their versions like the Rio Grande 30-30 & 45-70 these guns look like Marlin knock off's! Did Rossi do this when Remington bought Marlin? Just a thought, but hey Rossi make a steel receiver 22 like the Marlin Model 39 & I would buy it. ! But nuff said I have taken too much time on this Imn again great buy on your Marlin Model 39!!!

No complaints here either. But that 39 sure looks like a H001 on steroids
