I'm right there with you Brandi. Just can't make that seem pretty in any sense of the word.
To those of you who like that kind of thing, you're welcome to it.
I like Brandi's full lug barrel idea. That would be a handsome handgun.

I've had mine for a while now, but it balances very well and shoots even better.

Anyone bought one of these lately and wish to share their views, good or bad on it? Thanks Ron

Totally agree! I hate the look of a barrel forced inside a snubby look. Why not make the steel the same thickness from the top strap to the end of the barrel?

I don't get it.

I have one on layaway. I bet its gonna be one of those" you don't know what
you're missing until you try it" kinda things. Its a Ruger!! Can't we all just get along??

Gonna be a few months before "adoption" is final. Will report back then.

I resisted the call of the SRH for years.

My thinking went the long way around, from 'Jeez that thing is horrible !', to ' Well, it's blocky and chunky looking, but I bet it gets the job done '.

That went to ' Man, that thing is built hell for stout. I want to shoot it. '

From there it was a short trip to ownership. I traded a 4" S&W 65-3 square butt, pinned and recessed. Straight up trade for a 44Mag 9.5" SRH, with a Leupold 2X mounted on top.

I'm the to testify, I should have succumbed to the siren call of the SRH decades ago. That thing is a hoot. The weight negates any recoil problem, and it's very accurate.

When looking at the SRH, remember that ' Form follows function.' It looks that way because of its capabilities.

Thanks Bookworm. I have the same 9 1/2" SRH 44mag. Everyone that shoots it, says ahh.. I get it now.. Makes those magnums not seem to bad, even after 50+ rounds. Ron

I like this design with the top lug blending with the shroud. Also shortens the front sight.

This is my 44 that I had tweaked last week. It has a 5" barrel. At the time I did not know River had a made the Toklat. If I had known, I would have gotten it. I am researching hot 45 ammo now. If I can find one close to my 330 grain hammerhead, I am getting a new revolver.
