4" Redhawk?

Back in February of 2012 I put $50 down on a 4" Redhawk in .45 Colt.

Kinda sick of waiting.

Does anyone know when Ruger will start making these again?

In the current environment I would not expect them to make run soon
I gave up back in August and picked up a used one on Gunbroker for close to what my local gunshop quoted he would sell if he could get one.
Glad I got it then.
You really can't go wrong with used one as it would take a lot to hurt one and I don't know too many people crazy enough to load on to the levels it would take to do it.

when I was looking for one about 6 months ago I called ruger. they informed me that their resources were being focused on their new models. they also informed me that they had only made about 100 redhawks at the time. they were trying to keep up but with the current climate their newer models were consuming their resources.

will it last forever? probably not but when will they catch up? who knows.

I too decided to purchase one from a forum member.

great gun!!!

be patient you wont' be disappointed. good luck

HANG IN THERE! I waited from September 2010 to January 2011 for my 5" Redhawk. The rep thought it would only take a few weeks, but it took way longer. I am very pleased with it and would wait again for a fine Ruger product. Wait a minute... I am waiting for another Ruger right now. Not a revolver (my main shooting interest) but an SR9c. I am sure I will have to wait... I am sure, also, that I will be pleased with the result.

I like the Redhawk and expect to like the SR9c too.

Hang tough.

4" Redhawk?

Ruger does not make "runs" of revolvers. They make a few hundred per month, depending on demand (redhawks). These go to distributors which have shown to be able to sell them. If you cannot get one from your local gun shop, find out who their distributor is, and find another shop with a bigger distributor. For example,it's easier to find a Redhawk in Montana than Florida, due to sales histories of various distributors.

These words are almost verbatim from the Ruger factory rep I talked to 5 months ago.

Ruger does make runs.
Dunno why any rep would say otherwise.
They don't keep all models in continuous production, they rotate production runs.

You just have to either keep looking on Gunbroker or just stumble on one....I found my 4" used .44 Redhawk at a gun show, of course that was pre panic but i still paid like $550 for it....I'm glad I did, I had wanted one for a while.

I saw a 4" .44 at a gun show a week ago. IIRC they had $990.00 on it. And it wasn't even that nice.

Saw a picture of the upcoming 4" 454 Redhawk. A good bridge between the gap of 2.5 inch AND 7.5 inch Alaskan

Upcoming as in from the factory? Are you sure it wasn't one somebody converted themselves?

Or did you perhaps mean SUPER Redhawk? I haven't even heard a rumor of Ruger making a 454 Redhawk as a factory offering.

A 4" .454 SRH would sell like hotcakes, but I think they would become like 4" Redhawks....nearly impossible to find....

I got my 4" Redhawk this past Saturday at the gun show in Berea OH. LNIB with paperwork and lock for $775.00. A little high but I've been looking on Gun Broker and they are like Hen's Teeth.

Oh, you just had to rub it in didn'tcha?

Hope you have fun with that fine weapon. Did you get the .44 or the .45? Let me know if the throats are tight in typical Ruger fashion.

Didn’t mean to rub it in, just sayin’. It is a 44 Mooognum. Reason I got the 44 mag was reminiscent of a Smith 629 Lew Horton 3” I had many years ago. Traded it for a LNIB Springfield 1911 “Loaded” with Factory Holster and Double Mag Holder. The 1911 is 45ACP (of course). The 3” Smith was a hand full with Factory Mag Loads but a little more manageable using 44 Special Rounds. I do my own reloading so I could tailor the rounds to be more “user friendly”. Happy Hunting and Good Luck. BTW, try a Google Search or Armslist.
