Buffalo Bore

Tomorrow we're going out into the desert to do some target shooting. I bought some Buffalo Bore .44 mag 340 grain +P+ for the Alaskan to try out. Should be fun.

I think I'll bring the Shorty Mossberg 500 too. They make a nice pair.

I'm waiting on my Federal order but should have some interesting tests soon. They offer a Hard Cast! So far some of the Buffalo Bore hasn't tested out stronger than Federal or Remington. I think the 340's was one of real non-performers.

Yea 1234 FPS out of a long barrel.

I have fired buffalo bore in 44 mag 45 colt 40 sw and 357 and all loads were accurate and faster than fed or win or rem.

Which loading? Post up your results because many I have tested in .357 also aren't there. I am doing DoubleTap 158 and Buffalo Bore 158 this week. In 125gr the DoubleTap was slightly (50 FPS) better than Remington at about double the cost.

I love their rounds, I use the 357 low flash for Home Defense, the 357 LFN as my buck up when hunting, and the 308 sniper in my RGSR for hunting. I dont reload...yet, so for the quality you get ootb they cant be beat.

Curious how the stuff works out for you.

I found that my SBH shoots a mile high with the sights screwed as low as they will go with any hot 300+gr bullet, sadly.

You WILL know when it goes off though.

I carry them for bears in my SBH, they actually aren't that much worse than a snappy light bullet load in my opinion! But have a mile of penetration, i don't doubt they'd do the trick on a bear! Have had very good luck with Buffalo Bore all-around, and they are a Montana company too.

I've also found BB to be very good stuff. They have some very useful rifle loads too.

I have shot a lot of Buffalo Bore in my .44 magnums and in my Glock G20SF 10mm. Recently I switched to Underwood Ammo. Their ammo is much cheaper and seems as hot as the Buffalo Bore or Double Tap.
