Ditto...if you want to carry it on a regular basis, the SP101 is by far the better of the 2...however, I have carried my 4" GP100 on more than one occasion! If you are wanting to have it for an in-home, personal-defense gun, then I would recommend the GP100!

Either way, I do recommend the Bianchi Model 7 Ranger II 3-Slot holster for either gun! Bianchi makes great holsters that last!!!

Lastly, if you're going to use it for home or personal defense, I highly recommend you consider installing a tritium night sight (front for the SP101 and both front and rear for the GP100). Meprolight makes them both! XS Sights makes a great front night sight for the SP101!

I too agree that the SP101 is what I would choose..
BUT there's nothing wrong with the GP100 either, I'd love to find an old 3" fixed sight GP in blued or stainless with the tiny grip..

Three of the SP101s I used to have SPNY 38, 9mm DAO, & 3 1/16" 9mm

If you take a look at my avatar, you'll have your answer. I preferred the 4" SP and my wife preferred the 2" . . . . so we wound up with both. That way we each have the gun that we're the most comfortable with. Buy the one you want for you and buy the one she wants for her. If you each have the gun that feels best, then you'll practice more and be more proficient.

You guys aren't making this easy. I am going this weekend to look at both the SP and the GP. We shall see what happens!
