LOL! I think we're all pretty much the same here. As soon as we get a certain gun, the little "What's Next" genie pops up in our head.
I'm not really into the revolvers but both the GP100 and the Alaskan have caught my eye.

Next purchase? A Redhawk is certainly at the top of my list. |

If you do not reload it is expensive to shoot factory 44mag or 41 mag or 45 colt. so if you do not reload try a 45 acp smith revolver. Or get a 45 colt redhawk and have the cylinder modified to take 45acp. 45 acp is significantly cheaper to shoot than the other 3 big bore calibers.

Powerful guns? Might as well go whole hog and get a .454 Redhawk or Alaskan.

The cost of ammunition makes most people unable to practice to, and maintain, proficiency with many larger caliber, or less common calibers (anything outside of .22, .38 spec, 9mm, .40, .45 ACP, and perhaps .357, though that is pricey).
Especially if you are new to revolvers I would recommend a .22LR. It may not make a huge boom, but the ammo is so cheap that you can practice as often as you like. Very few people become truly proficient with pistols shooting only large calibers. When you have a .22 you go and shoot 300-500 rounds in one session. Even with 9mm, most people don't shoot more than 100-300 rounds in a session.
All I know is that I got from 12" groups at 10 yards to 2" and very often single hole groups by shooting a lot of .22. (Mine is the original 22/45 from 1992, ugly, but very functional.) I highly recommend people shoot more .22 |

I doubt I'll go with a revolver, though. Most likely I'll buy a Mk III and probably a Take Down rifle. I don't think anyone can argue that shooting .22 isn't good, cheap practice. And it helps you especially if you have a flinch from shooting bigger bore.

You can collect a lot of GP-100s in different barrel lengths and finishes - some here do.
I wouldn't pass over some of the SA revolvers - Blackhawks and Vaqueros. There are some real sweet shooting revolvers in the SA only side of things. The Single-Six is a classic as is the Bearcat and they shoot the cheap 22LR.
Oh man, where do we stop...... it's all good!
