I replaced my Trijicon Sight with the XS Standard Dot on my SP101 and LCR357. I can see the XS much easier Day or Night.

Where's a good place to buy the XS standard dot sight for SP101? I only found it on the XS website

I called XS Sights from the Number I got off their Website and ordered it direct from them. I couldn't find it any other way for the SP101.

Waveform, I got my Mepro from Midway and it has the ring. Great sight.

I'm sure you could call and make sure it comes that way. If it doesn't they are very good about returns.

Install is really pretty simple, just make sure you have a vice to hold it steady when you drill, go slowly and get several of the bits, they are so small they are easy to break.

Thanks - it's down to Meprolight or XS. Going out of town for a few days so will have to put this on the back burner to simmer for a while.

Note that the Mepro will lower your POI vs stock. If memory serves, it is 1/32" taller

this poi change is something to pay attention to. i installed the mepro light on my sp101. it requires some care and patience but if i can do it so can you.

In my case (3" .357 sp101), the new sight picture to achieve POA=POI for my ammo at 8-9 paces is to center the truglo dot on the top of the back sights (so the dot is halfway above the notch and halfway in it). Once you get used to it this is kind of nice actually. You basically stand the front post up in the rear groove and lay the dot on the target.

Yep, same with mine.

Most of my guns are set up with combat sights, so I like having the SP set up that way.

Center the dot, pull the trigger, enjoy!

Hadn't considered the effect on POI - thanks. Will have the opportunity to shoot an LCR w/XS sight in a few days and I'm looking forward to seeing one of these sight options up close and personal.

Good to know I am not the only one. At first I thought about getting rid of the sight and finding one that was closer to stock POI with level sights since this is my wife's gun and I want it to be as easy for her to use both at the range and under stress as possible. Luckily, she is finding the method you and I use to be easier than lining up the sights traditionally, especially since this method fully exposes the truglo dot rather than hiding half of it behind the bottom of the rear sight groove.

I know I could paint it with fingernail polish but I would rather just replace it. Anybody tried the Trijicon sight they make for the SP101? It's pricey (typical Trijicon$$) but I saw one online for $68.

Any ideas or shared experience appreciated. Tips on removal/installation also. Thanks!
I just put that exact one on my SP101 this week. Have not had a chance to shoot with it yet........I can see with it a lot better in daylight and it shows pretty good at night..........

You'd be better off ordering your Mepro from Optics Planet.

My Mepro:

But I also like my standard dot XS on my 2"
