A hogue monogrip cured that.
.32 H&R or the .32S&Ws make it a good gun for starting a new young
shooter with a center fire.

I have been shooting auto's for so long that I'm actually looking forward to some good ole recoil. I saw a Hogue monogrip hanging at the LGS the other day and I'm sure I'll probably pick it up as I have them on a couple of my other wheelguns and I like them.
.32 H&R and the others may be pretty fun to plink with. Thats one of the beauties of having this gun. So many choices to play with... |

+1 on the Hogue monogrip. I like it a lot better than the stock grip on the SP101 in .327.

Welcome to the forum and congratulatinos on the SP 101 327, +1 on the Hogue Grips they make the recoil about half of what you have with stock grips, IMO... So what do you think of the 327, looking for a revolver for my wife, she cant shoot a 38 because it hurts to much and was thinking of the 327. Give us a good range report.

rdp357, I had an SP in the 327. it is a very intense little cartridge with quite a a significant bite in that small revolver, even with the easier recoiling 85 grain loads. 10 rounds of the 100 grain loads were all my wrist could take and I am a very experienced shooter. If your wife has issues shooting a 38, she will not like the 327, I promise. It definitely has more of a bite than a 38.
The 327 is still a viable option, though, if you can round up some 32 Mags or 32 S &Ws to shoot in that SP. Those are very mild cartridges.

Johnny I hope by now you've got that SP in your hand. The 327 does have a solid recoyle but it's more of a push straight back in the hand. 32 longs are like shooting 22s and the 32 H&R is equivelant to the push of a 22 mag. I think if your wife is interested in shooting she will like the size, weight, and handling of this little number. Since you reload that makes it even better because you can use the 327 brass with starting loads and still get good velocity and ease of handling.

Hey everybody...I've been working some crazy hours lately so I haven't been on in a few days.
I called the LGS yesterday, looking for my 327...and was basically told "if we haven't called you yet, then it isn't here, sorry." That, unfortunately, is not what I wanted to hear considering I was told it would be in on Wednesday. Oh well...
I'm really looking forward to shooting it though...and I will definitely give a range report; that's a promise!
Also...I contacted Dillon in regards to one of their 3-die sets and they don't have dies for the 327 Federal. Shell plate conversion, but no dies? Really?
Ok, so now I need to look for another source on dies. I also use RCBS for my rifles but I have always used Dillon pistol dies. What is another good quality manufacturer that makes dies for this gun?

Lee and Lyman both manufacture dies for the 32. Look for dies that will load the 32 and 32 H&R. I don't know if any of the manufacturers list the 327 yet but if it will load a 32 Long it will load a 327. I've found the Lee dies work very well for less money.

Latest update...still no gun.
I called asking "where is my gun???" Basically, my special order slipped thru the cracks and was never sent.
Anyway, it's all taken care of now...but here I am waiting AGAIN!

Hello and Welcome to the forum from Michigan! Your gonna love your SP in 327 mag! I have one and next to my 22's it's one of my favorites, it ccan be down right plesant and mild mannered with 32 S&W, a potent little defender with the 32 H&R, and a barking attention getter with the 327 mag......did I mention that it was FUN!!!! not to mention accurate as h-ll! I hope ruger introduces the LCR in 327! BTW I use Lee carbide 32 H&R dies for the 327
