I got a S6 from GunBroker last week. Blue 4" and I was the only one that put in a bid - don't know why. It looked good in the pic. Got it for 1/2 the going price too. When I got it I was thinking it would be well worn. It turned out to be as near new as if Ruger just shipped it. Not a mark on it. Well, now I have to find a shooter cause this one is going in the safe. In a couple of weeks the gun show is comming to my neck of the woods, so that's where I'll start. Maybe I'll find a shooter grade S6 for twice the price I paid for this one.

No comparison, buy the Ruger Security Six. I have a 2.75 inch model that I will always own.

Security Six prices are strange right now, I just got a low-back in holster worn but hardly fired condition for less than $400, but then again I have seen holster worn stainless steel later model 4" Security Sixes go for almost $600 on Gunbroker. It depends on who's selling, who wants it and just a lot of random factors.

A beat up but functional $350 Security Six wouldn't last 10 minutes at a NE PA gun show, but I have seen decent Sixes relist for less than $400 on GunBroker.

Luckily for me I sucked up every holster beat, thrashed looking Service Six for below $300 I could find over the past 4 years and now I have enough "shooter grade" Sixes for life.......buying the used Rugers is the cheap and easy part, now finding enough ammo to shoot them is the challenge

buy it. good price. GP100 replaced the security six and speed six. They are good strong revolvers. It will last you a life time.

I had a 4-inch version stolen quite a few years ago... It took me several more years to find a good-condition 6-inch replacement for it. They are getting pretty hard to find for sale in my area - I know mine isn't!!

I have come across a Security Six with a 2 inch barrel. Unfortunately there is some bad rust spots on it, mechanically it works fine. Is there any value for this gun?
