I know what you mean I've been searching for months too. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the ad in an on-line for sale site and at $400 no tax no shipping/FFL!
My wife an I were planning a run into Phoenix anyway when I found the ad so we moved the trip date up a week to try and get the SP.
Here's my range report:

Good price there!!!!!!

Get a set of Hogue grips and it will make a huge difference in the feel and shoot ability.

Also possibly a set of "speed" springs.

Be ware that you may not want the after market hammer spring. They can cause failure to fire if the hammer doesn't have enough speed on the fall.

Keep em coming!

Thanks 'Crusty', I did order the Hogue grips right away, I should have them by midweek.

On my GP100 I did a polish job on the trigger, changed to 10# hammer/8# trigger springs and shimmed trigger/hammer. I will do the same on the SP101.

Not a bit surprised as I haven't seen a used SP101 of any kind in quite a while. That is likely a good sign, it means people buy 'em and like 'em.

Good deal on a great revolver. The 3" version has a lot going for it. The shorties will ride in a pocket better but they're a bit heavy to me for pocket carry. The 3" in a good holster can handle about anything. Hamilton Bowen offers an enhanced SP101 package that I keep considering for mine.

Best Regards,
ADP3

Those grips look very nice! Good, no, great job!
