45 colt redhawk

Why in the world did Ruger stop making those in both the 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" barrel lengths? It seems like every shooter I know wants one. Except me

Anybody know roughly how many and when they were made?

Well, maybe I was wrong. Maybe non of you guys care about a 45 colt Redhawk.

Myself, I can't think of a better handgun for hunting.

I totally agree with you. The 45 Redhawk is a great hunting handgun.

Can't answer your questions.
I recently bought a 4.2 inch version.

5.5" 45 Colt Redhawk

I wanted a 5.5" 45 Colt Redhawk so bad I searched until I found a great used one. I believe Ruger is a great company, however I think they only build whatever is at the top of the sales list at any given time. Unlike some other companies that keep models around for a long time, Ruger seems to have models come and go frequently. I think they are a much better company after the loss of Bill Ruger, even though there would be no Ruger without him.

I currently want a 5.5" stainless New Model Blackhawk to go with my 5.5" New Model Super Blackhawk .44 magnum, but Ruger does not make one. I contacted them, and couldn't even get a straight answer about them producing one, they just said it is not currently in production. Duh, I know it's not currently in production because it's not on the website.
