LCR 9mm anyone?

This is a discussion on LCR 9mm anyone? within the Ruger Double Action forums, part of the Pistol & Revolver Forum category; I might be interested in any 9mm snub but why does everyone hate moon clips so much? IMO they're a must for a rimless revolver....

I agree Bighoss.

I greatly prefer the moonclips for my 9mm SP, to the speedloaders in my 357 SP.

Faster on reloads and IMO no more difficult to deal with than loading a magazine.

Only issue with moon clips is that they can bend if you don't load and unload them properly.

I have an LCR in 38sp and a Taurus in 9mm I shoot Nato which is +10% in 9mm. True they are not the same gun but close. The felt recoil feels the same to me. They both are very accurate. The moon clips for the 9mm are crap. They are to thin and flexable I have bent several. With better moon clips it would be nice but as it is I don't like them. Self extraction would be great. They should however "design" for the use of speed loaders. The current design of the LCR limits the choice. It is great however to use the cheaper ammo and there are more choices than you get with 38sp. I would be interested in a 9mm from Ruger.

I'll be interested to see how these CA revolvers work out after they get carried enough in a pocket and if lint and or crud from shooting gets into
and jams up the springs in the star that control extraction.

But, I do think a LCR in 9mm using moonclips would be good.

Wonder if you could get the cylinder cut for moon clips like I've heard of doing to a smitty?

I've got the 38, 22 and 357. Why the hell not a 9.
