I have an Alaskan in .454. At the range this fall, another guy brought in a Super Redhawk in .44. I think it was the 7.5 inch barrel. He had issues with his scope shifting under recoil. I guess that is just inherently a challenge with a big bore, high pressure round.

I have an SRH in .44 Magnum with a 7 1/2" barrel. One of my favorite guns.

I have a 480 in 9.5." Would have prefered a 7.5" to make it a bit less cumbersome, but its hard to complain.

Here is mine

I traded for this one last year at a gun show. It is a blast to shoot Recoil doesn't seem that bad to me (at least on my hands and arms). It does jar my teeth, seriously it does, I think I need a mouthguard when I shoot Those are some of my reloads for it in the pic..

I have the SRH 44 7.5" and I bought it new in '89 when they were around $400(I think) I still have it and I still love it. Its extremely accurate and I had a 2x Leupold EER scope, but have since decided to use the iron sights. I still have the original rubber grip with the wood inserts, but switched to the Houge shortly after receiving the revolver. It sure is neat to look at it next to my Single Ten and my 2 LCRs. It looks like a GIANT. Great gun, I wont ever part with it. It always draws comments from other shooters at the range.

I got a 9 SRH over 20 yrs. ago intending to use it for handgun silhouette. I found I liked the gun, but not for silhouette. I had the barrel cut to 6 because that is the minimum length for hunting in my state. It works very well. I just shot it last weekend.

Wish Ruger still made them in .480. I guess I'll have to find a used one somewhere...sigh.

Had a friend that had one in .44 mag, 9.5" barrel back in the late 80's. Scoped with hogue grip. I could have bought it from him for $500. Kicking myself for not buying it.
