one is 5 shot one is 6 one is lighter so more recoil. Check em out
I have GP 100 for home and trail and will get an SP101 in .22 next and .357 after that.

GP100 4" and SP101 3"

GP100 has a MUCH smoother trigger and handles 357 MUCH better than the SP101. For Home and Range, this is the one.

SP101 is lighter and easier to conceal if you decide to do that.

For the range and home you'll want the GP100 for the reasons already stated. One more round in capacity, generally better trigger, better recoil absorption/recovery with heavier loads. If you think that it may be a carry gun someday don't overlook the 3" GP100 as a compromise between the two.

For a range gun, I'd recommend the GP100.
It's a little bigger & will be easier to shoot & has one more round.

I think the SP101 is too heavy for CCW - but I've heard here & other forums that some do carry one.
For me the SP101 was a no-brainer as I have other guns.
This one was just cuz I didn't have one.

As a range gun, I have a S&W Model 10 - most naturally accurate gun I own (for me anyway).
I also have a Uberti single action in 45 Colt. - Big bullet, very accurate, harkens back to my youth watching John Wayne & Chuck Connors with my Dad.

For SD/HD I have a Redhawk in 44 mag.

That's enough pictures! I just paid for some medicine (SBH 454) and can't afford more now!

Sorry for the mini rant, but I already owe the wife backrubs until the end of June for this.

Those are some seriously beautiful collections, though.

For a Range/HD firearm, I'd go w/ the GP100

I agree on the GP for range and home defense (if I could only have one.....for range and HD) other than that for me it's the SP. It goes almost everywhere with me and I have carried it for about 17 years without a problem , very easy to carry and conceal. My DOA GP also is not a problem to conceal or open carry I just really like the SP's.

Hard decision, but the 3" SP is one heck of a firearm. Love my GP and LCR, but ...

just a couple more questions, is the 3" gp100 with adjustable sights worth the price ? or is the fixed sight model ok? I like having adj sights but dont know if the talo is worth it. it does look nice. the sp 101 is out, I like the extra round heft it has. once again you guys show why this site is the best around, thanks. I'll tell you what, I really like the looks of the Talo edition of the GP100 3". Your entering the market at the right time. Buy it while it's available. You can always sell/trade later, but I bet you won't want to.
