I know that the Colt mk3 model speedloaders fit the Six models, but has anyone tried a Python model? The reason I ask is someone just gave me a set of HKS PYA loaders. I haven't had a chance to test them so I figured I'd ask around in the meantime...

Actually, I tried one out with some .38 RNL I had in the range bag on the way home tonight... they seemed to work fine. The fit may have been just a tiny bit off but it was pretty hard to tell. I think with full length .357 loads it would be practically unnoticeable. Gonna try to get in some range time next Saturday so I'll have more time to play with them then.
I'm still curious to know what the actual difference(s) between the Python and Ruger 'Six cylinder spacing might be...

Not sure what the P-A is, but the HKS Python loaders are the PY.

SO after looking a little closer, it appears that the Python spacing is just a hair or two wider than the '-6 spacing, but it seems to work OK. Especially with fairly pointy RNL. I'm sure a wider nosed bullet shape would be a little more difficult to drop into the cylinder smoothly.
I guess I'll look around the local gun classifieds and see if anyone has a set of Mk3 loaders they want to trade.
