Just got my "New" GP100 today

I bought it on Gun Broker and was a little disappointed that it looks to have been handled extensively, didn't come wrapped in the plastic bag that my other "new" Rugers came in and had some scratches on the finish and part of the lable had been scraped off. The serial number matches the gun though. I'm not sure what kind of feedback I'll be giving the seller of a "NIB" GP100.

Other than that, I like the feel of the GP100 and can't wait to get it to the range to try it out. I bought 158 gr .38 specials and .357s. some pratice and some SD Hornady XTP rounds.

It's my 5th Ruger and I expect that I'll love it.

Enjoy your new gun and leave appropriate feedback.
I also have never bought a new gun on the internet. There plenty of gunshops around, I prefer the personal option. That said, I have bought lots of acessories that way.

Congratulations on purchasing a gun with character. :) The gun must have been on display and handled by a number of individuals. Certainly won't affect the performance and I'm sure that once you get it to the range, all disappointment will be forgotten. I've bought several guns on the internet and have not been greatly disappointed yet. A few minor scratches don't usually bother me. BTW, what length barrel and SS or blued finish. Where's those pics?

I have to agree with PackinPreacher. A few scuffs on box and some handling of the firearm shouldn't take away from your pleasure in owning and shooting it. When I was young and foolish I threw ALL my boxes away! I had no idea at the time that the cardboard boxes would be of any importance as all my firearms reside in gun rugs. If there are no real noticeable cosmetic problems I'd say forget it and burn some powder!

Sigh, so did I. I no longer have the boxes for my Colt 45 Gold Cup or my Beretta Model 84. Oh well, the guns still shoot just as good!

Sorry you new revolver has some scratches and wasn't what you expected. I picked up a NIB blued 6in and a show a few months ago. When I got it home and took it apart I discovered a thin line of rust just under the grip on the frame. I was pretty pissed off, but took it out and shot it anyway. I cleaned it up by scrubbibg it with some breakfree and copper mesh. Now its smooth, barely noticable and the way the revolver shoots it isn't going anywhere.

I know how you feel I get a bit anal about the condition of my guns also....If it`s a stainless GP100 it would be easy to resolve any scratches... if it`s blued you still can touch it up to the point you would need to get very close to see ant marks....in any event it will probably be one of the best you`ll ever shoot...Enjoy Jim
