This lcr revolver has grown on me and has gone from wierd and ugly to cool and kick ***. What do you all think? I think the 357mag version did it for me lol. I love the magnum ctg
Cool. I have the 3sp. If I had it to do over, would buy the .357 but would load it with +p's. I would just feel better about the extra strength of the barrel and cylinder and comfortable shooting +p 38 rounds at the range.
You are asking this on a Ruger forum however. Keep that in mind.

I think the LCR is a wierdly cool looking little critter, however the Hogue Tamer grips, while very effective, are Butt-Ugly. The CT grips are better looking but not pleasant to shoot with.
Oh i havent forgotten this is a ruger forum lol but ive heard a few people on here say they thought is was ugly. Its really grown me for some reason. Enough that i purchased one myself in 357mag.
I agree, I hate to say it but I bought a S&W 640 over the LCR and SP. The Ruger's are good but Smith J frames are hard to beat in terms of the total package. Oh my 640 does shoot 357 mag but it is an all steel gun.
The LCR is function over form. For me it is a lighter pocket carry revolver and that is why I bought it. I much prefer the looks of my SP and if I belt carry it's the SP as I only own pocket and belly band holsters for the LCR. To me it is a tool and that is why I own it. It isn't something I feel the need to go out and buy a set of exotic hardwood grips to dress it up.
I have never thought of it as being ugly or cool looking.I bought mine for one purpose to carry for protection. It's a tool designed for that purpose and that's all I ever thought of it to be.I'm happy with my 38spl but would have rather of had the 357 if they were available at the time. Though it maybe a bit odd looking it works well and that's all I ever worried about.
I agree 100%!! However, I can also say that my LCR has a better trigger, better front sight, and the Hogue grips tame recoil better than my S&W j-frame. I shoot it better, therefore it become down right "beautiful" in my book.
I don't think it's a particularly great looking revolver but for what it is (a deep carry defensive gun for a CCW/back-up that just needs to work when it counts) who cares?
I picked up one in December. I got the .357 version for the longer ejector rod and this type so I might break the habit of pulling my weapon and cocking the weapon, a habit I picked up from my old police days with a S&W model 15. When it comes back I might even take it to the range for the first time.
I'm not being sarcastic, but what does "looks" have to do with saving you butt? I bought a .38 +P LCR when they first came out. I practice with it weekly at my gun club. There is not a single thing that I do not love about this gun. Currently I have about 1200 rounds through it. I carry almost everyday and nobody gets to see it. Ugly is not in the equation.
Oh yea, I almost forgot, my LCR does have those "ugly" Houge rubber grips. Can't beat'um.
Maybe It's just me but I find the "look" of the LCR vaguely similar to the legendary "Semmerling .45. A gun I also thought was appealing but then, I also fancy girls with "Bold" noses.
