I just picked up a 9mm SP101 at a gun show today. I would like to find a good place to get some of the moon clips and if this gun is ammo sensitive or can I feed it any good FMJ and HP.

Congrats on the new SP 9mm. What gun show were you at today? I went to the Gunrunners show at the Farmers Market. I hardly ever see moon clips at gun shows in Georgia i think you might get them from Brownell's on line. again congrats on the 9mm it is on my wish list.

I went to the RK show at Cartersville. I actually found some moon clips there , but they are S&W and won't fit-yet( since I already got them ,I'll file them out a little and see if I can make them work). It came with 3 - 2 different kinds- but they'll do until Midway gets some in. Brownells sell the S&W and i don't know if they are the same one I have. Looking forward to taking it to the range Monday.

I bought some factory moon clips from Ruger for my SP101 9mm. It's been about 5 or 6 years ago. They did and probably still have them.

Ruger hasn't had the moon clips in over two years, that I know of. As the demand decreases, Midway will most likely drop them so buy what you'll need for life.

This may be a dumb, newby question, but how does a 9 mm shell not slide too far forward in the cylinder without the ridge at the back found on a .38 or .357?

But, as I stated many times: "I am no expert".
Not a dumb question...you want to learn. That is always a Good Thing!

Midway is on backorder until April. I just email the company direct and hope I can get some there.

Although, i shot mine without moon clips since they still headspace on the mouth.
