how to fix rattle

the ejector rod rattle on my sp101 is driving me crazy. i have searched all over the internet and everywhere says it's normal but nowhere says how or if it can be fixed. i was just wondering if there is any way to make the ejector rod fit tighter or just some way of making it stop rattling. if it wasn't for this little detail which i'm sure would have been easy to fix in the design stage, i would think my sp 101 is perfect.

any help?

The only way to stop it is to send your SP101 to me I will make sure you will not be able to hear it. Seriously both of mine seam lose but I hear the loaded shells moving around more than the ejector rod.

it's only a problem to my mental health. yes, while it's loaded i can't hear it over the shells clanging around, but when i unload it to look at it i hear that ejector rod rattling around. whenever i buy something this expensive i expect it to be perfect and when it's not it bothers the crap out of me.

Are you sure it's the ejector rod? Transfer bar rattle is normal for SP101 (GP100 too).

I don't know if there is anything you can do about the rattle, but you should take comfort in the fact that you own one of the best firearms ever made.

Wrap a small piece of silver duct tape around it.

Problem Solved....................

If you shake it more than twice you're playing with it.

you can put something like tetra gun grease on it , tetra is`nt as stiky as some but will still attract dirt, lint,& leather fuzz !!!

Put as stiff a grease as ya can find on the transfer bar , where in connects to the trigger or mill .020" off the hammer face !

My tinitus is getting to the point where I close caption the news now so I get all the details , rattle, what rattle !!!!

I just unloaded my gp100 and sp101, closed the cylinder, shook them, they both rattled, then I pulled back the trigger, shook again, no rattle, but did notice a little rattle in the 101, held transfer bar with pencil eraser, no rattle. Huh?

terry_p will become famous soon enough
The rattle on mine is the sound of a safe firearm. It's the transfer bar safety.
