I would like to take the cylinder out to do some more cleaning to get the carbon off the end of cylinder but don't know how. Is this and easy task or does the whole gun have to dismantled?

Get a flat head screw driver. It's not difficult, just can be a pain sometimes to get the trigger guard back in. And unless you're planning to take it apart, DO NOT pull the trigger when the trigger assembly is taken off the frame. I found that out my first day with the gun
Get it apart and get your Mother's Mag and your rag ready |

Double-Action Revolvers Disassembly Cleaning Reassembly | I did the mothers mag last night on it, WOW what a difference. I use it all the time on my motorcycles and if you keep using it you can achieve a mirror finish.

Well now Mr. Conroy, those are some fine photo's. A beautiful gun for sure. May you have a lifetime of enjoyment with that fine looker.
And remember, be safe out there.
