All I want to do is be able to shoot what I'm going to call "6n6in6" then I can be half as good as JM at one thing.....LOL!!!!

There's a back story to it but that's basically the challenge.

My friend and I shot a couple hundred rounds the other day. He has an SP101 3". Felt recoil on that is significant to put it mildly. I could shoot a box of 50 magnum rounds out of mine with no hesitation. After 2 shots with his, I start to cringe just before the hammer falls.

He shoots mostly 38 special and a light diet of +P, and the occasional cylinder of 357. After feeling the reduction in recoil on my gun, he's going to send his off to Magnaport next week.

I'll put up some before and after pics of his gun as well as some before and after video. We're both excited see and feel the results!!

On a side note, I decided to try my personal challenge to get a baseline, and did it in 6.9 seconds. The reload chewed up A LOT of time. Getting more efficient with the reload is where the biggest reduction in time will come from.

In all fairness that's not an apples to apples comparison, your 4" GP is almost one pound heavier (13oz. to be exact) than your friends 3" SP. The heavier weight of the GP soaks up a TON of recoil.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to make a comparison. I just wanted to give some observations and state some facts.

I'm confident that the SP will be more pleasant to shoot heavier rounds with when it comes back from Magnaport.

Etching is great, looks good. How loud is the 357 and does it seem milder?

About that.... i was noticing in 2 of the segments your right hand/wrist its doing all the work. Your left hand has a pivot point and isnt doing as much as it could to control the muzzle. Not saying i do any different, in fact i will have to pull my gopro out of the closet and do similar. :-)

It is a little louder that I noticed. Not as big a difference as with the brake on my AR, but noticeable.

That grip was the most natural for me having adopted it for shooting semiautomatic pistols three years ago.

I've since switched to a different grip technique after trying a few different ones the last couple of weeks. I'll have to grab some more footage this weekend with my new grip, which already feels more solid.

Porting on a .357?

My T/C Encore is chambered for 7-08 Rem and I don't use a ported barrel. I guess I'm missing something here.

I don't understand why you would modify the hammer? Shooting the GP in single action is so much fun! You eliminated that option. The work you had done is cool and all but I like recoil
