5" GP 44 Spls from Lipsey's

I just heard about these today.

RUGER 44 SPECIAL - RUGP-4451-5 - LIPSEY'S EXCLUSIVE - 1765 - UPC:736676017652 - Lipseys.com

I have also heard that they are going to issue a 1/2 lug version.

For me, a 5" 1/2 lug, .44 Spl GP is just about my ideal DA revolver.

Does anyone have one of these yet?

I think a 4" would be a bit more practical. YMMV

For carrying, but for range shooting the 5" appeals to me.

Get the 5" and the the 3" then your average will be 4"
Ok not funny?
Seriously I bought the 3" but would have preferred it to be 4" now I also have the 5" which I like and has its merits so I suppose if the 4" comes around I'll just have to get that as well

I like the 4.2 half lug barrel of my Match Champion and think that gun in 44 Special would be really interesting.

I would be very interested in a five shot Match Champion chambered in .44 Mag to go up against the S&W Model 69.

I like it! Why, oh why, can't some ammo manufacturer put out a reasonably priced 44spl cartridge for us non-reloaders?

Good question. Obviously most of it is cowboy loads but I was looking at the costs and who wants to pay $35-40+ per box?! That's crazy!

Thankfully I do reload and to get into it isn't that expensive, it's worth a serious consideration!
