They work OK but having Arthritis in my hands I went with Pachmayr mono grips. So far they have work great for me!
I have the Pachmayr Presentation grips on it that work fine. Just wanting to pretty it up a little. I put the Diamond Pro on my SP101 and my LCR and love the feel of the contour grip.

My Security Six replacement grips:

The factory grips were much too small for my hand...

My grips are compromised so that the 4" gun makes a better concealment carry, not the Sixes' strong suit. So, I reduced the loads I shoot to accommodate the grip choice...sort of "bringing the mountain To Mohammed".

Herrett's Detective, minimum dimensions.

Ditto on to small for the hand. Nice looking grips! I like contrast in the wood.
Here's mine with the Presentation Grips.

There's a gun store that sells Pachmayr but they're 100 miles away...one of the pitfalls of living rural in a small town. Next time I get over that way I'll put them in my hand. Thanks for all the help.
Just to give you some reference, MidwayUSA sells the Pachmayr Gripper for the Security-Six (Pachmayr 3175) and has them in stock at $32.00.

Those Herrett's are some fine grips as well. Probably set you back a lot more cash (about $130.00) but certainly may be worth the money.

There are a LOT of options. Good Luck !

Mine with it's Trausch grips, originally their TJ84R model for a round-butt Speed-Six, modified for my Security Six by the late Jacques Trausch. They're a superb grip, providing an automatic pistol feel; the backstrap is fully enclosed. These grips were the standard ones for French police forces when The Service Six/RMR revolvers were standard issue.

He made 2 sets for me-one with a more aggressively cut on the left panel to facilitate speedloader insertion, it looks crude, but is extremely effective. When I queried as to why they didn't come with such a cut as standard, his reply was that the French police didn't believe in or issue speedloaders.

Best, Jon

Well...I ordered the Pachmayr 3175's and they came today. Installed them on my Security Six and am very happy with the feel. It's almost identical to the Diamond Pro. Thanks again Petrol and Powder for the info!

While I'm happy with the feel...I'm not crazy about the fit. There are intermittent gaps along the one edge and bottom where the grips come together. I'm probably going to send them back.
