Gp 100 ejector rod question

Hi, I'm new here but have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge from reading all of your insight. I have a few double action Rugers but I have a GP100 that moved right to the top of my favorite list. The ejector rod is loose and slides freely in and out about 1/8". It doesn't affect function however it is annoying that the revolver is tight everywhere but the rattling ejector rod. Is this normal?

Hi 10ring1, That rattling of the ejector rod is perfectly normal, it's the way the revolver is designed. I'm a huge GP100 fan, owned several over the years and still own two, one a 5 inch and the other a 3 inch model. Enjoy your GP100!

I can.

The ejector rod on my SP can move laterally so I presume my GP will as well. The transfer bar will rattle if you shake the revolver. All normal. Shoot it and enjoy it.

Thanks for the reassurance. I absolutely love the gun. Unbelievable trigger and accuracy is superb.

I just picked up a new GP-100 yesterday.....The ejector rod has about 1/8" of free fore/aft movement.

Shot a box through it yesterday, beautiful gun!!

They sure are. I instantly fell in love with mine after shooting a cylinder through it.
