My first ruger da revolver

My third gun purchase of all time was a Blackhawk .357 that was a very nice gun, the only thing I noticed(it was the same as my friends Superblackhawk bought at the same time)was the chambers were not all the same size but it did not effect function at all. After selling that I bought many S&W's and Colt's and fired friends Ruger DA's but never took the plunge until now. I just bought an SP 101 4.2" after reading about the 5K round test Ruger did with it and liking the triple lock up, no Hilary hole like S&W and Ruger got rid of that terrible defacing they did on the barrels(it REALLY turned me off). Can't wait to shoot it! Maybe some more Ruger DA's in the future!

Congratulations on your new SP101! It is a great little revolver that can do a lot of things well.

It is however, proper forum etiquette to post a picture of said purchase.

I have a bunch of Ruger DA revolvers, in fact many of them are Double Action Only [DAO].

They really are well made.

That 4" (actually 4.2" for our Canadian friends) SP101 is a good "kit" [trail] gun. I wish they would put a half lug barrel on the .357 like they do on the .22 but other than that, it's very "packable".
The stainless construction is a plus and the compact size makes far easier to get along with when carried all day.

ENJOY your new DA Ruger !
