It's great to see older threads revived.
This is a topic that has seen plenty of exposure in many other threads as well.
As such, still a very viable topic.

The only 5" model I can find is listed with Davidson's House of Guns ... again, zero quantity.
When I purchased my revolver I was able to hold both 4 and 6 inch models ... and found the 4" more to my liking. The 6" felt just a bit barrel heavy to me. If a 5" was available I might have gone with one. Good luck in your search.

I just took delivery of a GP-100 6" blued this week. I have been @ the range twice and put approx 120 rounds through it. I am very impressed and satisfied with my purchase. Seems to be a very accurate weapon at this point. I struggled for weeks between the S&W 686 and Gp-100. The 686 seems to be hard to get. I found a used one for $629.00 non-negotiable. After research and remembering how Ruger has taken care of my concerns with my Mark III and the pricing of the GP-100 I opted for the GP-100 and am very pleased with my decision. I just can't imagine being any better satisfied with the Smith.

I have the 4" barrel on a blued GP .357 mag. and loved since I took out of the box and on to the range. Holds true at 25 ft., 50 ft. and 25 yds., (however sometimes I don't ), I don't have any negatives concerning the 6" version. I opted for the 4" as it fit my need better.
