GP 100 3" new to me

Recently traded a Remington R1 for a nib 3" GP 100. Been on the want list for a while, never got around to getting one. Found a set of compact grips for it on ebay and those should be here wed. of next week. Those Hogue grips, while functional, just didn't look right on the revolver. I see a lot of folks here, like myself, like the old speed sixes and the GP line. Looking forward to getting it out.

GP100 3" is a great gun. Enjoy!! I kept the Hogue grips for comfort but they do press up against my side in the high ride holster. And the 3" barrel allows for comfy concealed sitting and reclining.

I have a GP 100WC and love it. It's my IDPA gun this season, and am having a blast. It's one of my wheelguns that will never see anyone else's hands while I'm still alive :-)

I had a 1708, 3" adj sight fall into my lap while looking for a 3" SP101. I own a 2.25" SP101 and a S&W 28 4". The GP100 3" is my go to for around the property, home defense, hiking and carry. I am very accurate and confident with it. I have shot well over 2500 rounds from it. I have bought, sold and traded many guns, but this one will never leave.

In the last 5 years, S&W pre-lock 3" K and L frames have skyrocketed in price, making them more collector's items than working guns. The GP 100 3" is the ideal cost effective replacement to fill the 3" niche. My new (to me) Wiley Clapp 3" GP is as near perfect a revolver as I have owned. The 3" barrel length is far superior than the standard > 2" snub nose for accuracy, and the GP frame is built like an anvil. Though I have learned to never say never, I concur with other posters that the GP 100 3" is tough to consider selling.

Good luck with your new GP!

Enjoy it, its a great gun. I bought my father a 3" for christmas several years back to replace his p89, he wanted a revolver. So I bought him one. I liked it so good a couple weeks later I bought me a 4" to have a little longer version. Great gun and worth every penny. Good for protection, range shooting, or concealing if need be.
