GP100 Accuracy Potential

What is the typical out of the box accuracy of a 6 inch GP100 at 25 yards.

I know it depends on the particular firearm, but as an average, what are they capable of?

Also, are they generally more accurate with 38 special or 357 magnum loads (as a general rule)?

Also, are the blackhawks and other single actions considered more accurate out of the box?

If scoped, then under 2 inches at 25, from rest.

I can't shoot that well with iron sights, and I prefer standing practice, so I never get any groups that good, but thats what I hear.

I'd agree 2" or less from a rest. Out of the box, freehand, double action the trigger is pretty stiff and a little rough. The accuracy would suffer. That said, they are easy to smooth up and lighten up.

My wife is a lot more accurate with .357. Maybe she just pays more attention and hold the gun tighter.

I don't know if a Blackhawk is any more accurate.

I only have two GP100's.

Either will put 6 of 6 into less than 2" (c-t-c) from sandbags at 25 yards with a decent hand load.

On a good day, the 6" GP100 has put 6 shots into less than 1" at 25 yards from sandbags.

I don't have many "good" days any more. But 2" or less is mostly routine.
