Redhawk

Picked up a Redhawk 4.2" 45 Colt and 45 ACP. Cleaned it up and took it to the range last weekend and was very pleased with the performance. I don't think I would have looked at this gun if it weren't for some posts here on the Forum. I can't wait to get back to the range. Now I have to start looking at some new loading projects. Glad to be part of the Forum.

Awesome revolver. The Redhawk 45 is definitely on my short list.

Congrats, am very intrigued by this redhawk. Thanks for the quick review. Have been looking at posts here and elsewhere on this redhawk with hope that I just might get a stablemate for my S&W 625

I hope you enjoy yours, as much as I have mine. Picked up two months ago. I really like the smaller grip.

Sounds like a fine nightstand gun or walking in the woods security blanket. Shoot it and enjoy it. Congrats.

I would love to have a RH in .45 to go with my 4.2" .44 mag Redhawk. Congrats on a great revolver and nice convertible setup.

Congrats.

Just do not drop a loaded moonclip on something hard like a tile floor; the clip will bend enough that it will make the cylinder hard to turn.

Now that you have brought up the subject of Moon clips. Is there a aftermarket offering that will work well in the 45 auto/45 colt?

Yes there is. TK Custom. But I find the OEM moonclips from Ruger are just fine and durable. The trick is in how you load and unload the clips to keep them from getting bent.

I did myself and my gun a huge favor by purchasing this tool. BMT Equipped.

go to time 3:45 on this youtube to see it demonstrated by Jeff Flynn.

I found no need for a tool with the Ruger clips, brass went in & came back out easily with bare fingers.
