That is an amazing story to say the least! Whole lot of luck and God on his side! But the thing legends are made of.

The incident took place about 10 miles from my house.
One small correction to the message title, not that it really matters. It was a brown bear, not a grizzly. The grizzly are an interior bear. This is a costal area where the bears grow considerably larger, I have seen tracks not far from my house that measured 9.5" accross. Most guides say ad an inch to that measurment to get the approximate size of the bear squared, so the track should have been from about 10.5' bear! We do get some big bears around here!!!
I know Greg cassually, & he did an amazing job!

I shot a .454 at an indoor range one time and 2 fluorescent lights fell out of the ceiling from the shock of the bang.

The bear looked poor. I guess he was starving from the teeth being gone. He must have figured a man is like eating oatmeal. The guy reacted well and was well served by his Ruger.

I can't figure out if the impact was on the bear's mouth or what? It looks like it was damaged.

Nah, I don't think so. Particularly if you have a Redhawk. Check this one out.

405g WLN DCG GC 50 $17.50 4 lbs. View Details Dual Crimp Groove Design. Fine for Redhawks and Anacondas, and in .444 Marlin with neck-turned cases.
Beartooth Bullets Secure Online Shopping

Push this one at 1000 fps and should do the trick. Shoot in Alaska; the bullet will stop in Kansas.
