Would rather have a GP100 in 44spec. in 3", but who knows if Ruger will offer it in 3" even if they build a 44 spec.
This thread was only started four months ago. If you really want a GP100 .44 Spl., then you'll need to be patient. Do you not have any other handguns to shoot?

At this point might as well wait until after SHOT show. Bound to be some tempting new offerings for that cash burning a hole in your pocket.

Saw this in Jeff Quinn's Facebook page today.
"New Ruger GP100 chambered for the 44 Special cartridge. Three inch barrel, five-shot cylinder, excellent grip. ~ jeff quinn"

From the comments, MSRP $829 shipping next week. Also talk of a 2.75 inch 8 shot 357 Magnum round butt Redhawk releasing next week. Jeff Quinn also had this response to one of the comments, "44 Special useless? You will probably be happier with a Glock."

Oh my, that's just what I was hoping for. That 44 Special GP100 should sell very well. I certainly want one.

Now that is perfect! Just what I was hoping for, 3" barrel and adjustable sights. I'm warming up the credit card as we speak!!

Except for the cylinder that'd be the spitting image of my 1708. Dang it! If only there was a decent ammo option for us non-reloaders. 55-60 a round even for target loads.

I hope the street price is a little bit less. Right now, there's not a lot of difference between that price and a Smith & Wesson 696.

Now THAT is very tempting. Currently I am sans a GP. May have to consider blowing the Christmas budget on one of these.

My FFL can usually get Ruger firearms for about $200-$250 under MSRP.

Looks like the front sight is in a dovetail instead of the standard removable? Just looking at the photo.
