That's up in S&W 69 retail pricing! With the 69 coming out with a 2.75" barrel, I'll probably stick with the S&W even though I've been crying for a 44 special GP100 for years.

Most private FFLs can get Ruger products for 20-25 % under MSRP.
You should wait for the Ruger to release the product, and then contact some local FFLs for real-world price quotes.

How many of you have actually paid the Ruger MSRP for a new gun in recent years?

The new Ruger GP100 44 Special offering looks like a beautiful revolver I really like the 3 inch barrel with adjustable sights. But if it was a offering because I see the front sight is a Novak Cut I would opt for the rear fixed Novak like I have on my Ruger Wiley Clapp II I really like the Novak sights on the GP100WC and the GP100 MC that has the Novaks!!! man talk about a pair of beautiful 3 inch Ruger revolvers a GP100 WC or 1708 & the GP100 .44 Special wow!!! But if there isn't that much difference in the S&W Model 69 .44 Magnum and the Ruger GP100 .44 Special thats a real tough call if you are a .44 magnum freak but for me a no call I do not want to beat the crap out of my wrist the Ruger GP100 would get the nod!!!

I wouldn't pay MSRP for any gun. My point was using MSRP on both brands so we're comparing apples to apples. Discounted or not, the Ruger is priced up with the S&W. I have a ton of Ruger's, but never paid S&W prices for any of them

I pray that this means a 4" (or 5") barrel would be in the works... my dream revolver!

Let me guess, a 4.2" bbl for the Canadian market.

All I can say is it'll be longer than 3 inches.

5 inch would be nice, 6 inch would be OK also. One of these lengths would make me move

The American Rifleman review closed with an interesting bit of crystal ball gazing. They said now that Ruger is producing these as five-shooters, what's stopping them from expanding the line into 41 magnum, 45 Colt and 10mm?

Maybe American Rifleman has an inside track to what's coming next.

.45 Colt I don't see, no room.
10mm would have a very limited market.
.41 Magnum would probably make Ruger uncomfortable about pressure levels.

The .44 Special GP100 (with a 4", 5" or 6" barrel is a MUST BUY gun for me)... I have been wishing for this gun for years... I seriously hope Ruger offers all three of these barrel lengths... I'd buy each of them.

5 inch barrel in the 44 special availeable in California would be my holy grail!
I had to jump through some serious hoops to get my 5 inch 357 GP100.
