It's hard to tell anything for sure from just that one picture. But I've been zooming in and looking it over and it appears that the forcing cone has a bit more "meat" than the 696. Hopefully that is the case.

I can't believe this is happening. Unfortunately I really don't *need* it right now, and really don't want to spend the money, and have never taken up reloading which I think would be required to keep it fed at a reasonable price.

So the bottom line is I'm glad they're making it but hope that they're still making it in five or ten years when I might be in the market.

How many months have I been saying "Patience"?
Should be no surprise.
And neither should the next version.

What about need to have?

I've posted about the GP44 already, but have to say that if I still
reloaded I'd be lining up for the gun.

I think we can both agree that this will make the .44 SP people very happy.

But not on wich Football team is the best.

I'm all about the Red Sox.

However..the Seahawks gets my vote in the winter.

Same for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Terry.

Huh, good eye. But if they changed the barrel, why keep the billboard on the side instead of moving to the bottom like new SPs?

Well, this 3"er would teamup well with my other 44Specials... Another version sounds good.

Ruger GP100 | Altamont Company

Wonder how these will fit on the 44 gp100. I'd like a set on one.
For $50 shipped, would make a nice upgrade. In my eyes at least.
Will a WC style version be offered soon? Or a 4" with WC style grips.
Hmmmmmm.........

The Compacts that Ruger's selling again might be a good option.
I'll probably end up with those. Like 'em.

I have a couple of sets of compact grips that I stashed away some time ago. I am very pleased that Ruger started selling them again. I think they would be a perfect match to the GP44.
