I tend to lurk in Budsgunshop.com's used section a good bit looking for good deals on Ruger handguns. I bought a 3" Blued GP100 for 399.00 delivered there a few months back. Well yesterday I happened across a stainless one for 409.00 delivered. I looked at it. Came close to buying it twice last night. Posted a heads up on my local forum (CarolinaShootersForum.com - Powered by vBulletin) for other interested parties. Then this morning it was still available and I ordered it.

So I'm 409.00 poorer, but I'll be :D when I pick it up later this week from my FFL.

I do indeed. You seem to be in danger of developing a nice case of it yourself ;)

The best cure for this ailment is to separate your self from the cause. So to help you out send the blued one to me and I will properly dispose of it for you. I have had all the shots, 357 of them, so don't worry about infecting me. Maybe some one else would be willing to help you rid yourself of the stainless steel one.

Congrats on the purchase, I hope you enjoy it.
NOT. A. CHANCE. :D......

And thanks, I intend to.......

tis time fow trigga time!!
It is indeed.

There's something special about the 3" GP. I know exactly why you couldn't resist.

Good move. :D
The 3" GP is darn near the perfect revolver. My blued one is circa 1994 and has one of the nicest GP triggers I've ever felt. I'm hoping this stainless one does as well.

Dammit, rr!

I saw your heads-up over there about an hour after the GP was sold...

to YOU?!?!?!?!?!

If you should lose your mind and decide to get rid of a 3" stainless GP, let me know...

Ed, sorry about that.........

I slept on it and woke up with a case of GP100 weakness.......I was very relieved to find it still there Tuesday morning.

It's now here in hand though:

A pair of 3's.......not much of a poker hand, but nice when talking GP's......:D

I've had the blued one for a couple months, but I just picked the stainless one up from my FFL today. Very tight lockup and sweeeeet trigger. It's 2007 vintage, the blued is circa '94.

I like pairs of guns, like my P90's,Melissa let me know what your SS is length and finish wise and maybe I can get a twin for my SS...

My Security Six is a blued 2 3/4 inch with the original grips and a Pachmayr Tyler T type addition. Model number starts with 150. I replaced the front sight with an orange stripe Millet. There is a little holster wear in various places. The trigger is really sweet. But, it hurts my hand when I shoot it and I can't seem to get any kind of accuracy with it. Probably due to me rather than the SS.

Ranting *******,
Concur on the 3". Very handy size. Also, I have a 4" stainless Python, 5" model 27, and 3" GP. The Python has had one trip back to Colt so far, S&W is back at Roosevelt ave as I type this, but doubt (could always be wrong) I'll need to send the Ruger back for repair. If I thought I was going into a situation where I might need to use a gun, I'd take the GP over the other two.

Bill,

I agree wholeheartedly. I've shot a couple of Pythons, nice, but I don't get what all the fuss is about. I've shot and owned a couple of Smiths and they just didn't do it for me, whatever that indefinable "it" is when it comes to firearms fit/preference.

When I bought my first GP100 I was hooked. I now own 5. The two 3" ones shown here, two 4" stainless ones (one of which I may end up giving to my Father in law), and a six inch blued half-lug. Plus 3 SP101's and an LCR.

I'm a bit of a Ruger fanatic.......
