.41 magnum redhawk

It seems they are getting scarcer than parking spaces at gun shows. Looking on different auction sites I have found exactly 2. Were they just overwhelmed by the 44? Anybody have one? Given that there aren't that many, what do you think would be a reasonable price when they are found?

The .41mag was originally designed to fill a gap in law enforcement, but was never adopted due to the weight of the gun. Some departments (San Francisco California PD & San Antonio Texas PD) did issue them and they were carried for a while but soon replaced with semi-auto pistols.

For the civillian though they were accepted by many. Some, like me think they are the best revolver round out there. I have been shooting with & hunting with it for over 20 years and all three of mine are stainless Redhawks. I love to handload and can really taylor loads to my liking, to do anything I need them to do. Here are my three guns. A 7.5" with a 2X Leupold Scope, a 5.5" and a 4" I made from another 5.5" before Ruger copied me and built their own.

All those look great! I have a Blackhawk in .41 Magnum that I've owned since 1982 and I love shooting it. I have put a lot of rounds through it and find it to be an accurate round that is easy to shoot. If you reload, you can easily reduce power for target shooting and until you get to the heavier bullet weights it will do everything the 44 mag will do. I was looking for a Redhawk with the integral bases and rings to set up with a scope for hunting as my eyes are failing me at the longer distances. You just can't seem to find them for sale. Taurus catalogs their tracker model 66 in 41 and you still see 657's but I don't want to give up that Ruger strength when shooting full power loads.
The one I did see on gunbroker is gone now so I guess they are just getting snatched up as soon as they become available.
That's a great collection of them tex45acp. Makes me want one or two or three even more.

My dad's got a 7.5" .41 Mag Redhawk and I love the gun. Much more accurate than my .44, but then again he's done huge amounts of work to it over the years. I've been shooting that .41 since I was a tyke and will probably add the caliber to my collection when I get the chance. Can't help you with the price of one but man are they a sweet gun. Kyle
