It appears to be something you may want to avoid....

Razmear, It's not the flashlight .... it's the handle that will get you in trouble. As noted in mndoggie's reference, when you add a handle, the gun is no longer intended for a one handed operation, therefore BATFE says you need a class 3 tax stamp. The easiest solution is to buy a rail mounted flashlight and forget the handle.

OrgLongHair, If you don't know the correct answer, it's best to not reply. In your case, the OP could get in serious trouble if he took your advise. This is one of the reasons why the forum is NOT for legal advise!!!

amen, not the light, but the handle. Cant have one sticking out sideways, either. I checked it out with a 556 pistol I have.

Makes me wonder how CZ gets away with selling the Scorpion below with a rail attachment that is clearly meant to be a safety feature to keep your second hand from getting too far forward

Just curious

Thats simple its market definition or intended use is not as a vertical grip, and hence no laws are against that....yet. Thats not to say that some could try to use that stub as a vertical grip. Kinda the same thing as the pistol brace on a pistol. Just how I see it.

I love learning new stuff. I do not own a Charger and never knew the law against having a vertical foregrip on a pistol.

I would had bought that and slapped it right on there.

Thanks for the insights everyone.

Thanks for the replies, I did get myself a cheap flashlight only for the bottom rail, but would really like to have that "mono-pod" on their as well.
Maybe someday the laws will change for the better, but not gonna hold my breath.

there's something called an ANGLED FOREGRIP that isn't considered vertical, at least for now, by BATFE. I'm not aware of any that have rails to mount anything, nor do I know if they'll mount on a Charger. What they do is change the angle on your wrist making it a bit easier to hold, a good thing for those of us with Arthur-itis, friend to a lot of us older folk.
