charger chrono'd

I wanted to see how much fps was lost from the 10 inch barrel. cci mini mag rated 1235 fps ------ 10 round avg. 1155. Not bad only 80 fps reduction. I'll take compromise all day given the compactness of the charger.

great fun.

Hey, silverback! Seems like it's been awhile since I've heard from you and now I miss your post by almost a month!

I'm glad you chrono'd the Charger... Seems like a reasonable compromise. Keep on shootin'!

yep it has been a long while since I have posted.

Too Tell the truth I have gone to the Dark side. My Revolver journey lead my 357 to 45 colt. I did bunch of reading and the lower pressures of the 45 colt, less recoil, muzzle blast etc. won me over.

I began to look for a light weight 45 colt revolver. I found the Taurus M450 then the M450 ultra lite and titanium models. Both of those models weighed in at 19 to 20 oz. empty. Great shooting weapons.

while doing more research I ran across shootingthebull410 videos (must see) and dot com page. He has provided some very honest evaluations of various rounds and yes evaluations of the Judge 45/410. My intreset was peaked by the Public defender. I ended up with an ultra lite and have never looked back. these weapons have great relative accuracy in 45 colt with the added benefit of the 410 federal 000 buck rounds.

the public Defender 2 inch barrel again weighs in about 20 to 21 oz unloaded shoots the federal 000 buck rounds out to about 12 yards max before the shot begins to spread to far.

then you can't complain about the rounds Lehigh produces for these little gems.

this had lead me to look at the larger judges. I chrono'd my 6 inch judge to between 900 and 950 fps with my usual 8.9 grains unique with a cast 250 grain bullet. The fedral 000 buck puts and about a 4 inch pattern out to 25 yards.

Yes I have become a Taurus revolver fan boy. the one thing I have also noticed is that I don't really have to tweak these weapons. The triggers seem to break in quickly and smooth out nicely.

I have ended up keeping them stock.

well that's my story and I am sticking to it. LOL to many guns and so little time.

Great! Glad you found a new niche. I haven't done much with the Judge line or similar revolvers. I have tried the Rossi Circuit Judge, but that's fairly different.

Glad you've been out having fun with some 45 Colt! I always enjoy shooting revolvers...
