Old vs. New Charger

I have an "Old" model charger with laminated green/black stock and non threaded barrel. Love It !!!!! Have had it for several years now.
Couple of my friends liked shooting it so much at our hunting camp that
they went and bought the "New" model charger.
We haven't had a chance to shoot all of them together yet, but will
soon will hunting seasons coming on, which got me to thinking.

What are the differences other than the obvious.
Are they still made the same ?
The newer ones seem to sell for less than the older ones did.
Which of the two will hold it's value better ?
Wanted others opinions on these random thoughts

Hmmm.....interesting questions. I only have experience with my new Charger TD so I can't really comment on the differences beyond the obvious. As for value - it seemed the old version got a nice uptick in value before the new one came out since it was out of production. In a sense the old one is still out of production so perhaps there is a touch of collector interest? Hard to say with so many having been made - not exactly rare or scarce or uncommon, etc.

I have a few collector tendencies but no interest in the collectibility of any 10/22 - just too many variations and millions made make it hard to get your arms around any of it. Fun plinkers though.

I really like my Charger TD but if they ever make a Charger TD with a stainless and black laminate combination I would have to add another one...

Haven't shot the new Charger, but have seen them in stores and taken a look (and have been very tempted). Compared to our original Charger, these new guns have a smaller and more compact feel to them, no doubt due to the change in stock design. Still very much a specialty pistol, but that new grip definitely has more of a pistol feel to it.

I got to handle one of the new models last weekend at the gun shop and was impressed with everything it came with (bipod, pictanny rail, BX-15 magazine, threaded barrel) all for right under $289. What I'd like to know is does anyone shoot one standing position? I mean it's considered a pistol and it seems like every video and review I've seen only shows people shooting it at a bench like a rifle.

The newer Charger has a different laminate stock that features a pattern on the front end which makes it easier to hold and I think looks more aesthetically pleasing. They also changed the handle to an A2 style pistol grip which makes it easy to customize.

I have one of the original model Chargers with an EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight mounted (the rimfire only version). I've fired about 400-500 rounds through it (wasn't really counting) and all were fired standing. I switch between an isosceles-type stance (both eyes open) and a more rifle-like stance (right-eye only).

One of these days, I need to mount the bipod and try it at 50 yards.

The barrel on the old model seems to have a heavier profile and possibly weight than the
barrels on the new model chargers. I have a 2-7x32 Burris pistol scope on my charger and off the bench with a bipod it shoots as good at 50 yards as any of my 10-22 rifles.
