Monopod on New Charger

As I await delivery of a new standard Charger, I have been lurking here, picking up a few tips and ordering some accessories. My only other Ruger is a 10/22 which now has the new BX trigger with the old one off to Brimstone getting ready for the Charger. Also waiting is a muzzle brake, Scorpion X2 grip and Bushnell TRS-25, so that leaves the ugly bipod.

I am considering replacing it with a monopod like this: Accu-Shot Monopods: BT06 - QK Accu-Shot® Precision Monopod - Extended Locking version with QK03 Quick Knob from Accu-Shot Product Catalog – Monopods – Bipods - Accessories

It is not a grip, but....

Would a monopod be useful on a Charger when used as designed and would it be trouble when used from upright stance, being used as not designed?

Do not use this. It will be a violation of BATFE rules about having a vertical grip on a handgun which mean jail time. Even though it is a "mono-pod" it functions as a vertical forward grip and would be illegal.

So replacing bipod with other bipod would likely be legal, assuming Ruger received the ok from BATFE to put one on there originally. But the monopod looks like a duck, as they say.

Hilarious, I can grab the bipod like a forward grip, but not a monopod? I feel like such a subversive rebel.

Drug dealers get 3 to 5 and if you put a vertical grip on a pistol you are a seriously bad criminal and get 10.
