Browsing the Facebook gun pages I ran across a post that said a distributor accidentally sent these Charger e-flyers out prematurely. Supposedly they are supposed to be announced Monday. I reposted the pictures to the "Ruger Fans" page on Facebook. I got a private message from a man that said he worked for Ruger and that he couldn't post it publicly but he would tell me off the record that they are currently producing these new Chargers. He seemed pretty legitimate to me. However, I guess we will all see soon enough if it is true. Just thought I'd share.
The AR pistol grip and BX-25 magazine add a 'tacticool' look that would certainly be marketable. I'm not so much into the look but an affordable Charger certainly appeals to me. (Most of the used ones I see today are in the $425+ range).
The captions below say that it's actually a BX-15 instead of a 25. And someone else pointed out that Ruger is marketing their new trigger for the 10/22 and Charger. They make that really plain in the ad. Too obvious for a product that they have discontinued
Those stocks/pistol grip combos are uglier than fried spit (in my humble opinion) Why mix the laminate with the plastic? One or the other please....These look like some kind of Morphodite that Mossberg would come up with...
Damn - this is good news for me. I was outside the US when these were introduced - and then discontinued. If this is true - it sounds like Ruger has really woke up to the fact that people want their (Ruger's) old diversity back. So many (of what I thought) great firearms have been discontinued - the .22Mag 10/22, PC9, 96 Lever - let alone the P-89 and P-90, etc. I'm sure they can mold plastic pistol frames pretty quickly - but those will only be popular, if at all, for so long. I hope this news comes to fruition ...
